Himlight Trading is continuously advertising items that are on the prohibited list. They are not an authorized dealer of Plantation Grown Timbers (PGT) Irish Coast furniture collection, yet post all PGT photos and use the term "Irish Coast" to confuse and lure consumers. They sell only imitation products (also prohibited) of much lower quality standards.
I am wondering how this business can be stopped from doing this? There are multiple ads going up daily!!

I am interested in finding out how the flagging works to stop companies from posting prohibited items on here? I can't seem to email Craigslist with this blatant copyright infringement so am looking for your help.

Your ideas (and flagging help would be appreciated).

Good News for the cold days !

Vancouver has a delicious new restaurant on 50th and Fraser called the Vancouver Tibet Kitchen. The food is really delicious, warm and decently priced. They have Mongolian, Nepalese, Tibetan, Chinese and Indian food. I especially like the Manchurian noodle dish which uses spicy pakoras as meatballs. THe mango lassi is wonderful too. The owners are also very friendly and nice.

Beautiful Region, a city trying hard to be world class, but filled with Theives and Scammers and that is the new reputation that is starting to show up on internet blogs that can be seen around the world.

THIEVES & AGRESSIVE PANHANDLERS ON SO MANY CORNERS etc..

They are polite and will rob you while they talk to you

In the past 2 years I have had these things stolen:

1 Iphone 4S (right off the table at Starbucks, one person dropped a bag of coffee on the floor and tapped my shoulder to excuse himself to disturb me while another person stole my iPhone from the table right in front of me, today actually.

3 sets of tools

2 Car break ins right in my underground secure parking

5 thefts of gas from my car

1 Umbrella stolen at 7-11 on Burrard as I turned to pay for my pack of gum

And there is more ..

Many of my friends have had the same experience ....

The Theives know even if they get caught, there are no consequences because everyone feels sorry for them because they have drug issues.

SCAMMERS

There are even more scammers here than thieves, beware of any investment offers. I know so many people who have been ripped off by white collar scammers who just get away with it because there is no protection for the average person form these people. International students and workers get ripped off even more by agencies, employers, there are many workers working for little or no wages, told they don't get paid for the training period that can last months, how many Metro Vancouver restaurants are abusing workers who are afraid to report them? How many people have been ripped off by white collar scammers? So many. Even one school here takes international families money and provides no services. Others offer investments into shares that are not worth the paper they are written on. and it goes on.

THE ECONOMY

The level of theft and scams here is giving Vancouver another reputation. City of Thieves and Scammers. This will without doubt affect investments and turn away tourists and others from Vancouver. Already if you drive down any street these days you can see many businesses closing up. One friend of mine who has a store at International Village mall said the level of theft is so high in her store even with many prevention methods that she is considering to close. The same people who steel from her, get caught, go to jail for a few days then get out and repeat again over and over the same crimes while hard working people like myself get ripped off for the little profit we have left after paying all the high costs of everything here.

Why not con air these thieves and scammers to the deep congo, let them learn what it's like to work to survive.

I'm done with Vancouver and will be moving my two companies away this year.

It seems the Government is not too interested in solving the problems here because it's just getting worse and worse at all levels. Actually crime is good for them because people have t replace what was stolen or damaged so they pay more taxes and creates an artificial economy, good reason for them to not do anything about it.

Bad Oil Change can cost you a broken engine (South Surrey)

Just before New Year, took my car in Total Lube Care (TLC) near my home in South Surrey for an oil change.

The next day I drove to work in Tsawwassen. At the end of the day I started the car, waited for it to warm up, for some moment later I noticed the "low oil" warning light was on. Couldn't believe it, all the horror stories of oil change disaster were actually true. I shut the car off, got outside in the dark and pouring rain and opened the hood, checked the dip stick, which was bone dry. I was lucky to find a mechanic shop nearby, drove over it. Right away the mechanic shined the light in under the hood, found the "oil filter" sat at the bottom under the radiator. So it had fallen off at some point during the drive to Tsawwassen from South Surrey.

After fixing the problem and cleaning up the oil that spelled all over, the mechanic, Aaron, check the engine, listened to it with a device, found small "knocking" sound at the bottom of the engine. He said the damage was done and the problem had started inside the engine even it is drivable right now, but it'll wear out faster.

After giving me the running around and many phone call conversations with the district manager form Total Lube Care, he offered me some "free oil change" and monitoring the car for 6 months. What a joke! I demanded that his company fix the engine, but of course he refused. He said the car is "not worth" to be fixed. At some point he offered to buy the car for $2000, I searched the internet, that's below a "trade-in" value in the US. The fact that the job wasn't done right the first place by TLC that caused damage to the engine of the car is the company's responsibility to warrant a repair to the damaged engine.

So beware that even you think business like this with A+ rating with BBB said it would "make it up to you", the best it'll do is giving you "free oil change".

Did anybody else see that really, really bright star near the Western horizon tonight from about 6:30 to 8? I was looking at it from Woodcroft and it appeared to be approximately over Point Grey at about 15 degrees elevation, just exactly where I've never seen bright stars before. I could only see about 10 other stars in the whole sky but this one was REALLY BRIGHT! I looked at a website regarding the locations of planets and it said any visible planets would be near the Moon at this time of night and the Moon was at the complete other side of the sky, if even visible. Then the star was gone, right after Two and a Half Men.

What the hell was that?

I recently listed some items for sale on Craigslist and was contacted by a few buyers who used false Paypal information.
The email they sent me trying to make it look official was good except i began to think what if i sent the item and they decided to change there mind. I would be out my item as it was on the way to the destination. well i decided they could wait a couple of days while i confirm this with Paypal to see if this is the way they do business.
Bam a SCAM. Good thing i checked first and i want all who read this to do the same before they get taken. There is lots of different people just waiting to take your items and give you nothing. So be careful and don't be afraid to keep them waiting while you check to see if they are legitimate or not.
