As a Promotions Officer for the Riding to Break the Cycle (RTBTC) tours, you will play a pivotal role in the recruitment, communication and promotions for the RTBTC Pacific Coast and Europe and Cambodia bike rides. You will have direct support from the Riding to Break the Cycle RTBTC Marketing Manager and RTBTC Ride Manager. The position is excellent for someone looking to gain valuable industry experience while working on marketing, communications and team building skills.
Riding to Break the Cycle: These social change cycling tours provide a unique learning experience while generating critical discussion, funds and awareness for global poverty. Annual routes across Europe and North America have raised over $200,000 and engaged thousands of people.
Weekly commitment: 5-8 hours per week (with possibility to increase if necessary)
This position has a minimum 8 month commitment from start date.
Responsibilities
Internal Communication
o Report weekly to the RTBTC Marketing Manager.
o Gain information and analyze target markets for each of the rides.
o Help identify new marketing opportunities.
External Communication
o Work with the RTBTC Marketing Manager to implement the RTBTC marketing and promotions plan in a team of 2-4 to reach target markets.
o Work with a team of promotional officers to recruit potential riders for the RTBTC tours.
o Collaborate with community members interested in volunteering with ride committee.
o Contact industry professionals, students, clubs, and other organizations and create interest in the RTBTC rides.

o Flexibility and consistency in volunteer hours.

o Experience in promotions, sales and marketing.
o Outgoing and passionate.
o Organized, responsible, goal driven and dedicated.
o Experience in social media and online marketing a must.
o An interest in the non-profit sector and creating meaningful social change.
