SportMedBC is looking for Volunteer Nordic walking Sun Run InTraining Leaders who can commit to at least 11 of the 13 weeks for once a week (2 hours) training starting on February 6, 2010 at community centres. They will match you to the closest community centre to your home or work.

* education (including CPR training)
* free Nordic Walking Instructor certification course (regularly $130)

If you are a new Nordic walking instructor or have received training but are a bit “rusty,” this is an ideal opportunity to gain practical experience and promote wellness in your community!
Leader Training Sessions:
New Sun Run InTraining Leaders attend a training day on January 9 where they will receive CPR certification (if they don’t already have it).
Urban Poling/Nordic Walking Instructor certification course on December 5 or January 23 (Online certification is also available).
NW Volunteer Ambassadors:
Super-keeners can apply to be Nordic Walking Ambassadors for a community centre. Ambassadors oversee other Nordic walking leaders under the guidance of the clinic coordinator.
