A new Community Policing Centre has reopened in Vancouver which covers a vast portion of the Westside: West of Main to UBC and, North of 33rd Avenue to English Bay. For this very large area, we need an equally large number of involved volunteers participating in crime prevention activities.
The offices of the
District 4 North CPC are located on
West Broadway at Pine Street. So that we can best help the public, we need to bolster our volunteer numbers some more. We want to rebuild strong programs and services for the surrounding neighbourhoods. Our current office hours are weekdays, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 3pm, with an extention to Saturdays ready to open up shortly. Patrols are daytime, evenings and weekends, and community outreach is scheduled as events happen.
Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of tasks and community outreach opportunities: front office resource/information, foot and bike patrols, child ID & safety, property ID and, with many more services and programs to come. Team players and self-starters who enjoy working with the public are encouraged to apply. If you have excellent interpersonal skills, and at the same time understand to keep information confidential then contact us now.
To apply, you must be:
- 19 years of age
- Long-time resident of Metro Vancouver
- Have a good command (spoken & written) of the English language
- Commit to volunteering 4 hours per month
- Consent to and pass a criminal records check
You're participation will help this community be the safest and most crime free it's ever been!
Volunteer applicants may visit our office – we are open from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday – or call for more information at 778-331-4023. We will also forward an application form for all email requests. Please reply to this craigslist address.
Thanks!
