CauseForce is a privately owned firm with headquarters in Los Angeles and offices across Canada. The company produces blockbuster fundraising events for its exclusively non-profit clients and continues to experience dramatic growth and its brands.
The Communications department consists of three coordinators, a western supervisor and a director. The Communications Director is based in Montreal and coordinators are in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. The main role is currently external communications but is shifting and growing to become one that encompasses internal communications as well.
Communication’s main roles are threefold: 1) Drive registrations and fundraising for our events through unpaid media coverage 2) Raise awareness about our clients and their mission through coverage and 3) protect and expand the brand equity of our events via the media. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility by working overtime on weekends during events and possess superior skills in writing.
Intern’s Role:
The role of the intern is to assist the Communications Coordinators and Communications Director with all aspects of media relations and running of the department. The ultimate goal is to get more and better unpaid media coverage for our clients and our event brands.
“More and better press” is our guiding mantra and unlike other internships the successful applicant for this position will perform tasks- including pitching to media, helping with conceptual design of PR stunts and events.

Responsibilities:
• Interview and write profile stories on participants
• Assist with Daily Media Monitoring
• Assist in the compilation and maintenance of “media intelligence lists”
• Help as needed with internal communications
• Aid Communications Coordinator in pitching participant stories to media outlets
Required Skills:
• Excellent Writing and oral communications skills in English (French an asset)
• Ability to communicate with multiple publics
• Excellent Organizational Skills
• Must be able to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment (dealing with different events)
