$275 per night with a three-night minimum. Deposit of 50 per cent required upon booking; balance due on arrival. GST and room taxes added. Guests expected to maintain a family-friendly fun atmosphere: No smoking, no drug use, no loud parties.
Clean sheets and towels provided. Wireless Internet included. Grocery store, laudromat, playground just blocks away. Children welcome, toys in yard, folding crib available.
On a quiet, tree-lined street near the intersection of Kingsway and Fraser. Three bus lines run within blocks of the house, providing easy transit to most venues:
-- The Olympic Village is 2.5 kilometers away. That’s a 15-minute walk, a 10-minute bus ride, or a 5-minute bicycle ride. Canada Place/BC Place are 2.8 km, and the main Media Centre is about 4.5 km; all easily accessible by transit. (City driving is expected to be difficult during the games.)
-- The Vancouver Olympic Centre (in QE park) is about 3 km, the Pacific Coliseum is about 4 km, and the Richmond Olympic Oval is about 10 km. All are accessible via public transit, and driving to these facilities is feasible.
-- Cypress Mountain is 38 km away, and takes about 40 minutes to drive under normal winter road conditions. The new Nordic ski area is a bit closer.
-- Several training venues are also nearby. Trout Lake rink (figure skating) is 1.4 km, Britannia rink (hockey) is 2.2 km, and Killarney rink (short track speed skating) is 5 km. All accessible via walking, transit or driving.
Whistler is 130 km away and a two-hour drive under the best of conditions. We would not recommend staying here if you need to be in Whistler every day.
