Looking for geeky, awkward, fun friends - w4w - 26

Date: 2009-11-06, 3:59PM PST

Hi!

So, u hm, I am a young-looking/acting 26-year-old girl who is geeky, awkward, and fun, and looking for more of the same! Most of my friends are tragically married and/or practically married, which means they're never free for spontaneous adventures and hesitate to commit to things like speed dating (it could be fun!) or anything suitably awkward but terribly pathetic if done alone.

So basically, I'm rather new in town, low on friends, and looking to meet some people who would be up for some random, fun, and awkward good times. I'm trying to think of a way to sell this to make it seem like I could possibly be The Best Friend Ever, and can't think of any winning arguments, which is making me a bit sad. So, here are some random things about me: open-minded, musically-obsessed, liberal, gay-friendly, straight (mostly, I think), religiously agnostic, literally-inclined, poverty-stricken (well, not REALLY, but it is a recession! Still, fun times need to be creative aka cheap!)... I write and read a lot, I'm up for movie marathons, won't mock your geeky habits if you don't mock mine, not really into the whole girlie clubbing and cleavage scene, totally up for any sort of awkward adventure like kick boxing or learning sword-play (apparently I've just agreed to that over the phone with a friend)... uhm. I'm actually pretty babbly, but kind of shy and socially awkward too, so if you're shy and socially awkward, email me, and we can be shy and socially awkward together.

Basically, I know it seems like the whole world has moved on and gotten married and left me behind, but I know that can't possibly be true. So if you're out there and you're not one of those super-fashionable, scary people this town seems over-flowing with, then email me. We can be friends. It's like in French class when they make you randomly befriend a stranger and then introduce them to the class. Awkward, terrifying, but in the end, somehow rewarding. Except. You know, preferably in English this time.
