I have been un-employed for just over 3 weeks now. Things were going pretty well for a bit as I was looking for a new position, going on interviews and relaxing. Starting this afternoon I hit complete boredom. I am so over looking for a job since that in itself has been a full-time job. Not to mention every interview I have been on has been a complete joke(I’ll complain more about that later).
I have decided to continue looking casually and try and enjoy my time off. This has now left me in a conundrum as most of my friends work full-time Monday-Friday, my best friend is on a 7 week vacation and since I have no income(and when e.i. starts it pays shit all) so spending money is out of the question for now.
So what am I looking for you ask.... random chat, go for walk/bike ride if it is not raining, window shop, etc.
I did get a part-time job at Cypress and I am preying for snow. The sooner it starts the sooner I work 2 days a week and snowboard another 2 days a week. So if you love the mountain we could be friends. I really suck at snowboarding and I am considering selling my board and taking up skiing but that has yet to be decided. We shall see if full commitment to the mountain this year helps my snowboarding.
A little bit about me... this is the first time I have been without a full-time job since I was in high school. I can talk a lot once I get started, I am no hipster or ubber environmentalists but I do have a strong love for East Van even though I technically live in Burnaby, I just like to have fun, try things I have never done before, always try to keep an open mind, discuss random topics and learn about new things. When I had an income I would go on weekend trips, go shopping, eat at new restaurants, play sports, lounge on the beach, occasionally drink way too much on the weekends. I have a sense of humor, love tattoos and many other things. Pretty much I am an everyday normal girl in her early 20’s.
Last January I met a great friend on craigslist and we still hangout all the time. She fits into my works Monday-Friday friends. I am hoping craigslist won't let me down in the hunt for someone who is also at home and bored. I would hope that you have goals in life and you are gainfully employed or also living on ei and hoping to get a job soon. I hope this works out and you just become another one of my regular friends... so the whole you need to have a job is important. I am not into people with no drive in life or live off their parents or whoever.
You can be male/female. In your 20’s is preferable although I have some friends in their early 30’s so that’s also expectable. Hopefully you’re feeling poor these days and want to do some things that are free for the next little while. Once I have an income I am all for going crazy and buying things I don’t need.
Please no ESL students. I constantly meet and befriend people from other countries when I go out. They always seem to rock and know how to have a good time. But I want to meet some people who live in Vancouver and plan on living here long term.
So if you are still reading and I haven’t scared you off yet write me back what’s going on with you. And as superficial as it sounds a picture in your response will make me more likely to respond.
