Our client is well established an international lanuage post secondary institution which offers work and travel programs for student visitors to Canada. This position will be on a 1 year contract
Responsibilities
# Sales to all Korean students who make contact via email, the web, by fax or by mail.
# Sourcing and securing new agents and suppliers in Korea (example: corporate clients, private language schools, high schools, clubs, professional associations, university language departments…) and supporting all existing and new agents in these markets.
# Responding to information requests and proactively promoting the employer’s products with all existing and new agents in the Korean Market.
# Researching the Korean market and developing and implementing the marketing plan and strategy for the Korean market.
# Sales to local (Vancouver based) Korean agents.
# Meetings with Korean agents visiting Vancouver.
# Traveling to Korea, and possibly other destinations, for the purpose of promoting the employer’s products and services.
# Assist in planning and running familiarization tours for visiting suppliers.
# Walk-in students – meet and do sales to Korean students walking in for information.
# Production of newsletter for Korean sales agents and suppliers.
# Counselling of Korean students as required.
# Translation of promotional material into Korean (web site, brochures, course descriptions, agent manual, student handbook…).
# Acting as translator for Korean speaking students and parents of students when necessary – for example in dealing with host families, hospitals and doctors, airlines…
# Conducting regular surveys of Korean students and agents for feedback on current services, ideas for new products, sales and marketing ideas for that target market…
# Updating database of agents and suppliers.
# Attending student fairs and agent workshops as required.
# Web page – Develop, maintain and promote Korean web pages and assist Marketing Director in maintaining other features of the employer web site including student profile section, listings, links …
# Weekly reporting to Marketing Director and attending regular meetings with Marketing and Sales team.
# Other duties as required from time to time.
Qualifications
# Sales experience
# Some knowledge of private ESL is an asset
# Proven experience in business development
# Experience in working with varying cultures and ensuring integration between cultures
# Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required
# Fluent in both Korean and English
# A university degree, preferably at the MBA level
# Managerial training would be an asset
# Self-motivated
# Hard-worker
# Able to multi-task
# Strong organizational skills
