Grand and Toy is looking for a motivated, self directed "techie" for our Business Centre in Bentall Centre.
Do you know all about the latest technology toys? Can't get enough tinkering with your home PC? This job may be perfect for you. As a technology advisor, you will jump at the chance to find the right technology solutions for our customers, and to pass your knowledge on to our staff members. You will have a great deal of influence over the technology product selection, as part of your responsibility will be to determine what items are working, what aren't, and what new items you think would do well. As part of our Small Business team, you will also work with the rest of our technology team to arrange and host small technology seminars to help pass your knowledge on to our customers.
The store is open weekdays only, so weekend and evening shifts are few and far between.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service, by understanding customers diverse, specific technical needs and applying product knowledge and service solutions to meet those needs.
Ensure quality of service by developing a thorough, detailed knowledge of technical specifications and other features of products and services.
Merchandising of Technology store plan-o-gram and promotional display areas to ensure a strong visual appeal, positive sell through and effective product promotion.
Coach and train all sales associates and SBAs to meet Small Business customers technology needs.
Maintain appropriate vendor relationships plan and implement tech demos and training sessions for the store and/or district.
Conduct ongoing analysis of product assortment to ensure the assortment meets small business customer needs. Ensure feedback delivered to Business Centre Manager and Tech Category Manager.
Conduct opening and closing procedures including accurate cash register balancing, bank deposits, and financial reporting paperwork.
Skills and Behaviours Required:
Proven track record in Driving sales and productivity.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
2 to 3 years experience in Technology product and programs.
Able to manage multiple and competing priorities through effective organizational, people, and time management skills.
Good analytical skills.
Solid technical skills (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point).
Loss Prevention Knowledge.
Ability to deliver customer advocacy through hands on interactive needs analysis.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize opportunities and act upon them.
Efficient, effective, with a commitment to maintaining a sense of urgency.
Self starter with contagious enthusiasm.
Resourcefulness, adaptability to change.
Ability to anticipate potential problems and provide resolution.
Strong organization skills along with the ability to deal effectively with multi-tasking.
Local travel may be required.
Education:
Secondary school completion.
Experience:
2- 3 year retail technology experience is desired.
Excellent skills in communication, sales and customer relations are essential.
