Data Link & Network Layer Specialist (NORTEL)
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshooting Layer 2 & Layer 3 Networks
• Isolating fault s and resolving problems through use of probes and testing tools
• Testing & Configuring switching and routing hardware
• Performing on-the-fly break-fix resolutions in a mission critical environment
** Must** Have Requirements:
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience with Nortel Layer 3 Routing Switches
o Passport 8600
o 5520
o Optical Metro 5200
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience with Nortel Multi-Service Platforms
o Optical Multiservice Edge 6500
o Optical Multiservice 3500
• Ability to successfully complete advanced security screening
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving and multi tasking skills, combined with an expertise in assurance systems and processes, trouble ticketing, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in telecommunications, internet, and data network architectures with an emphasis on network elements from Nortel Networks
• Minimum 2 years experience in a support role with two or more of the following services:
o EI Service (Transparent LAN)
o IP Centrex (VOIP)
o Internet access
o Private line (TDM)
o High Speed Transport (OC-3, OC-48 and wavelength)
