We are looking for a Data Center Operations Specialist to join our fast growing Information Systems team. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy challenging work with a great group of passionate professionals in a booming industry.
Job Description/Duties & Responsibilities:
At Global Relay, our Data Centers are the heart of the business. The primary responsiblity of this meticulously organized individual will be to develop and manage a variety of projects related to maintenance and modification of the electrical, mechanical and fire protection systems found in our Data Center environments. Delivering 100% uptime is critical given the dependency of the business on electronic commerce.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates projects and programs that support the maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure systems (Generators, UPS systems, Battery Systems and Building Management Systems).
Assures the proper commissioning and optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, elevators etc.
May oversee contractors for facilities renovation and operations projects.
Will be responsible for the development and implementation detailed operational procedures required to deliver projects in this mission critical environment
Hardware provisioning, inventory maintentnace, and physical security oversight
Qualifications:
Post secondary degree or diploma, with three years experience installing and administering medium to large UNIX/Linux systems in a complex network environment
3+ years of project management experience
2+ years within a Mission Critical Data Center Environment or equivalent
Understands and can apply high availability concepts.
Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and team-player approach
Learns quickly, able to manage multiple priorities
Experience in disaster recovery
Meticulously organized and detail oriented
