Fuck....for a city with under 500,000 ppl ( Vancouver only ), you'd think the transit would be a bit better!!! If you are at Patterson and you S.T. to Scott Road, it will cost you somewhere in the amount of $5.50 or $6.00 for 3 zones....and 90 minutes...That makes NO fucking sense at all, 90 minutes for $6 and yet if you are in 1 zone and pay what $2.75 I think, you still get only 90 fucking minutes. I have a yearly pass so the money issue doesnt affect me as such but for ppl who dont have one and pay for S.T. I feel sory for you.
The S.T police....typical that they are never around when you need them and when they are around some of them are real fucks. Demanding my ID because I looked like someone else???? Thats is a direct invasion of my privacy considering I was standing quietly reading the 24. I can see if I was in a car and the plates were missing or I was speeding but fuck...on public transit??
Next...buses rarely connect at a co-ordinated time. Ottawa and Toronto have the ultimate in public transit. In Ottawa all the buses wait at w/e station they are at, lets say...Baseline Road Station. All the buses leave at the same time, this way everyone gets to connect with w/e bus ur on. Toronto is pretty much 24 hour transit and last but not least, the subway system is operated by TURNSTYLES, most are manned by a TTC operator who sits in a small security office with one way view bullet proof glass with a 360 degree view. On each side or on one side, depending on what station you are, there is a coin box the you drop you $ into or token at which point the turnstyle is released and through you go to the train platform all the while the transit operators inside the 8 x 10 room observe everything going on in the station via CCTV along with workers who patrol, in short no $$$, no subway ride as you cannot get through the turnstyle unless you pump in $$ or a TTC token and for about $2.50 you can go from say Long Branch which is T.O./ Missisauga border to Brimley Road or Warden and Steeles which is about 2 1/2 - 3 hours of transit for the same fucking price you started off with, $2.50. Is it really a wonder why ppl EVADE paying fucking fares on Sky Train?? If I didnt have my pass, Id probably not pay either and why....becuase its not worth paying for. I live in Poco and the bus here is shitty., 160 Van Express and the 159 Braid After 7 pm the 159 Braid/Poco comes once every hour and thats the only one to the train!! When I went to Surey yesterday track maintainence was going on and I waited at Columbia for 20 + minutes for a King George train ( I got on at Braid and transferred @ Columbia ). Why not do the track bullshit at 2 am when there is NO service??? I think Translink should take a bit of Ottawas transit and some of Torontos and implicate into TRANSLINK . Install turnstyles at all SkyTrain Stations and get rid of the stupid zonechange, no zonesjust 1 set fare of say $3.00. So amny ppl avoid paying for SkyTrain and I dont blame them one bit. Skytrains gets ripped off because of no turnstyles and the cost of the train the more you raise prices the more ppl will NOT pay for the train and its catch 22. Evade fares and the price goes up which makes MORE ppl EVADE fares which makes the price go up again and so forth. SkyTrain is a very sad system ( the NEW trains and stations are great, its the management and operations that needs to be restructured and evaluated. )
