You Said:
why does jesus hate family life so much

Why is jesus portrayed as the very personification of love, when he hates familiy life so much. Surely families are the richest source of love for anyone in the real world and are central to a loving human society. So shouldn't someone who is all about love extol family life?

It's not hard to find bible passages that show what jesus thought of the family unit

You might be right but all of this stuff is designed to make worms like Canadians even more bitter. It's all reverse engineered.

36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Matthew 19:10-12 (New International Version)

10The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry."

11Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage[a]because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."

Luke 5:1-11 (New American Standard Bible)

Luke 5
The First Disciples
1(A)Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by (B)the lake of Gennesaret;

2and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

3And (C)He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little way from the land. And He sat down and began teaching the people from the boat.

4When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and (D)let down your nets for a catch."

5Simon answered and said, "(E)Master, (F)we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets."

6When they had done this, (G)they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break;

7so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink.

8But when Simon Peter saw that, he fell down at Jesus' feet, saying, "Go away from me Lord, for I am a sinful man!"

9For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken;

10and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "(H)Do not fear, from now on you will be (I)catching men."

11When they had brought their boats to land, (J)they left everything and followed Him.

1Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry.[a] 2But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.

Revelation 14:1-4

1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

2And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

3And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
