My client is well established in the printing and consulting industry. They are looking for a Bilingual (French) Graphic Designer to work in Vancouver, BC. This is a 12 month renewable temporary with a strong possibility of extension.

Job Details
- Use Graphics Packages on PC
- Create or modify digital documents using office; desktop publishing and web page design software - using various platforms
- Clean, maintain, and operate standard finishing equipment, and office equipment.
- Gather client requirements for all document design and printing projects; Advise clients on the best use of media
- Provide alternative visual and composition ideas to client
- Index electronic materials to media such as CDROM, disk or tape, for reproduction and distribution.
- Estimate costs of materials and time to complete requests
- Incorporate existing photos and illustrations into design
- Coordinate all aspects of print production
- Create and design small projects with some supervision; must take direction well
Requirements
- MUST BE FULLY BILINGUAL in French
- 2-4 year graphic design/fine arts diploma/degree from recognized institution or Post High School computer
- Graphics training and an in-depth knowledge of graphics design on PC applications
- Related work experience in graphics
- Able to scan full colour images and accurately judge colour output on a variety of devices
- Remain fluent in current industry software (i.e. Quark; Illustrator; Photoshop; Web Publishing; Freehand etc.) and graphic trends
- Communicate effectively
- Understand digital colour environment and requirements; able to prepress files
- Ability to understand customer requests and translate them into finished product accurately
- Must be a team player
- Able to build and maintain relationships with customers
