VFS is currently accepting applications for the position of
Editor/Videographer in our
Marketing Department.
Reporting to the Media Production Manager and working in support of the VFS Marketing Media Team and the VFS Marketing team. The Editor/Videographer will be vigorously engaged in production and post-production environments including video production, lighting, editing, media management, dubbing, digital media creation and archiving.
To achieve these objectives, the Media Producers work as a team with the Director of Marketing, the Media Production Manager and the VFS Marketing Team. The incumbent must provide a well-grounded knowledge in all aspects of media production, be highly organized, and thrive as a positive self-starter who succeeds in an evolving, fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
Core Responsibilities:
The
Editor / Videographer will demonstrate a proficiency in the following:
• All aspects of video production from pre-production to post production of all internal video productions. This includes the following:
o
Video Production: planning, prepping, staging, lighting, three point lighting and video camera operation.
o
Post-production: Non-linear editing, sound mixing, motion graphics, color correction, video outputting, exporting, compression.
• Assist in preparation for online distribution, project management and archiving when required.
• Produce various formats of promotional videos including Documentaries, Program Overviews, Demo Reels, and Behind the Scenes/Making of Pieces, Interviews and Student Success Stories.
Skills, Experience and Education Requirements:
• Final Cut Studio (FCP, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Compressor, DVD Studio), Adobe (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design,) and the MS Office Suite. Knowledge of Avid, Pro Tools, Dreamweaver, Flash, and 3D software is a strong asset.
• Demonstrated creative editing aesthetics, reflecting emotion, story, rhythm, eye-trace etc.
• Demonstrated experience with digital video lighting and shooting.
• Proficient on Macintosh and PC platforms.
• Experience in a variety of digital media formats (MPEG-4, AVI, AIFF, FLV, QuickTime, WAV etc.).
• Experience with a variety of Tape Formats (Beta SP, DVCAM, Mini DV etc.).
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated good judgment and initiative with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Able to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an attention to detail.
• Highly organized team player with a flexible approach and works well under pressure.
• Relevant post secondary education in Broadcast/Film/Television Production is preferred
• Minimum 5 years industry experience in video production, post-production, or broadcasting environment.
