About Us
Moving Media Group is a rapidly growing national media company based in Vancouver. We operate a network of interactive touch screens in the back seat of metropolitan taxi cabs (www.movingmediagroup.com). We sell advertising on the screens to national accounts, including clients such as TELUS, Flight Centre, Bell, Westin, Clubzone, Vanoc, Rogers and others. We are hiring an experienced outside sales rep to assist in closing deals for the 2010 Olympics and to prepare the market for our expansion to two other provinces in the New Year.
This is a highly entrepreneurial position that will enable a salesperson with the right skills to embed themselves at the highest level of Canada’s media buying industry and spend time in Toronto pitching the country’s most influential advertising agencies.
About the Position (Outside Sales Consultant)
This is a Full Time, Permanent, Outside Sales position.
We're looking for an independent-minded sales professional with a track record of winning and maintaining long-term new business in B2B selling roles. The candidate must be results-driven and have strong analytical skills. This position provides the unique challenge of on the one hand evangelizing a new product and on the other positioning Moving Media Group as an advertiser’s long-term new media advisor. This requires a consultative sales approach involving:
• Proactively prospecting new leads through extensive cold-calling, networking and attending industry events where decision makers are found
• Building customer confidence and loyalty by seeking out and meeting each client’s various needs
• Developing and cultivating deep relationships with medium to large size advertisers
• Regular regional travel and possibly national travel
• Finding and booking deals worth between $10,000 and $100,000
• First year earning potential of $90,000+ (with significant base salary)
• 3 weeks vacation to start
About You
We believe the ideal candidate will have:
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years outside sales experience with proven results
• Drive and tenacity to make a ton of cold-calls, handle every objection and win business
• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively on the phone, in person and in writing
• Strong planning skills to formulate sales strategy and hit revenue targets
• Keen understanding of how technology works and the ability to explain it in plain language
Preferred Qualifications
• Advertising sales experience
• A pre-established network in the media buying industry to generate business
• University degree
• Have a car for travel to client offices in the lower mainland
