Zipcar’s Event Sales & Marketing Ambassadors are the public ambassadors and
sales force of the Zipcar brand and report to the Regional Marketing Manager. This position requires approachable, clever, and fun individuals who can effectively communicate the Zipcar message to a variety of different people, while honing in on their strong sales skills to acquire new members,
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Sales & Marketing: Through the understanding of the Zipcar business model, you will be able to use your sales skills to acquire new members at large and small events in and unique street promotions in the city.
• Awareness: You will embody the Zipcar lifestyle and educates members of the public about Zipcar by engaging people, distributing marketing materials, and communicating the significance of the Zipcar brand.
• Creativity: You will come to us with great ideas as to what events to attend and how to better market our brand to the public, and find unique ways to increase our member base.
• Performs event set-up and tear-down and associated tasks.
• Deal with onsite staff managing all troubleshooting
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Performance or similar experience with street promotions, a plus.
• Ability to lift and to carry collateral materials and displays and to setup events
• Ability to confidently approach members of the public.
• Basic computer skills.
• 21+ in age & a valid BC driver’s license & a clean driving record
• Must pass Zipcar driving history requirements
• Interpersonal skills—the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
• Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and demonstrates group presentation skills.
• Written communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
• Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
• Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
