Ambitious and growing company with several hostels, pubs and liquor retail stores is looking for an out-of-the-box, innovative, creative, cutting-edge, youthful thinking senior marketing director. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing marketing plans, public-relations strategies and a weekly calendar of special events to keep our food/beverage/hostel and liquor retail store locations ‘fresh’ and at the top-of-the-mind of their communities. In addition, the successful candidate will also be responsible for directing the senior management persons of our three-backpacker hostels in Vancouver and Nanaimo and the accompanying marketing campaigns for those internationally appealing student-friendly accommodation facilities. This position will require a highly motivated, disciplined, detail-oriented, organized individual who enjoys a leadership role and the implementation of innovative marketing ideas. Considerable experience in marketing is a must; Candidates with experience in new-media marketing and managerial experience will be given special consideration. The position requires participation in marketing and publicity initiatives, including working on weekends and being able to freely travel to Vancouver Island, as needed.
