I am a professional guitarist with 30 years experience teaching students of all ages and levels how to play the music they want to learn.

My background is in classical guitar (I have a degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA.) but I play and teach many types of music including pop, classical, blues, folk, and Latin music. My specialty is fingerpicking guitar and my fingerstyle arrangements and articles on guitar have appeared in many music magazines including Guitar Player Acoustic Guitar magazine with whom I have been a contributing editor for ten years. I am also the author of One Long Tune, the definitive biography on the great fingerstyle jazz guitarist, Lenny Breau.

I tailor my lessons and approach to each individual student and make sure that the learning process is fun and fulfilling. .

My rates are reasonable and I can teach at my home or yours.
