We are a small education services firm called Vancouver Internships (www.vancouverinternships.ca). We manage internship and co-op placements for ESL schools, FSL schools, and universities in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. Each year we place hundreds of students in internships or study and work terms. We are looking for an internship placement coordinator to join our team ASAP.

The internship placement coordinator would be responsible for meeting with students, helping them with resumes, helping them do interview practice, and escorting them to interviews. The core of the job is contacting internship and study/work host companies. This involves using our internship host list, calling prospective employers, and using the internet to research new employers. If TESL-certified, the internship coordinator may also teach workplace preparation seminars. Experience tells us that this job is best suited to an ESL teacher looking for a path to transition out of teaching. The person we hire needs to be friendly, patient, organized, and comfortable working in a structured environment. The job is 35 hours per week, and pays $13 per hour during the training period, rising to $14 per hour after three months. This is a 6 month contract position and it is an excellent entry level learning opportunity for recent HR graduate students.

If you would like to apply, please send a message to the Craigslist email above. Your message should include your resume in Word or PDF formats, a few words on why you are applying, and lastly some info on your availability.
