We have an exciting one year contract position available at our Yarrow-Chilliwack or Langley Interior Door facility.
Reporting directly to the Regional Human Resources Manager – Western Canada the Human Resource Generalist is responsible for providing a full range of HR support to the local management teams including performing full cycle recruitment for all positions; training and development and employee relations. This position will play an active role in developing and implementing Human Resource policy and procedures for the division.
We require someone who can handle multiple-demands, is comfortable interacting at all levels of an organization and has the aptitude to coach and mentor all employees in behavioural skills, development of performance plans, and conflict resolution.
This position is responsible for:
• All recruitment activities including job postings, coordination of interviews, participating in interviews, conducting reference checks etc.;
• Preparing new hire packages including offer letter and employee agreements;
• Coordinating and presenting the employee orientation program;
• Performing the exit interview process for all departing employees, perform the analysis to identify common factors and opportunities to enhance retention;
• Act as the primary contact for HR related issues;
• Overseeing the Attendance Management Program (HRIS);
• Work with the Benefits Administrator in the administration of STD/LTD claims;
• Support and assist in the division wide Health and Safety program;
• Assist Managers and Supervisors in Employee Relations issues;
• Manage Human Resources policies and programs;
Travel between local facilities will be required.
Post secondary education in a related field with a minimum of three years practical HR experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with recruitment, performance management and employee relations are essential. A CHRP designation would be considered an asset.
