Health Services Coordinator
Help prospective & current tenants while you participate in community health & social planning
Penticton, BC
You will primarily provide assessment and consultative services to applicants and tenants with complex social and healthcare needs and/or behavioural problems. You will assist in providing appropriate housing for these applicants and connecting them with valuable resources in their community.
Along with conducting training programs, you will liaise with regional and community health authorities, non-profit housing societies and co-operative housing groups. Your input into community health and social planning as they relate to tenants of social housing will be welcomed.
Your qualifications could be in a number of areas: a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work, OR a BSN and/or eligibility to practice nursing in BC under the Registered Psychiatric Nurses or Registered Nurses Act, OR a degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. occupational therapy or vocational rehabilitation). An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. In any case, you have a good knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principles and mental health disorders, coupled with excellent assessment and diagnostic skills.
Your experience spans 3 years working with a diverse population of people with psychiatric disorders and complex social/healthcare needs in a community setting. Experience in providing critical incident stress debriefing services to individuals would also be preferred, as would proficiency in all current MS Office applications. Eligibility for registration with a professional regulatory body is expected. In this role, frequent, all season travel will be required.
