Reputable, established Vancouver company is looking for a reliable, responsible, athletic, outdoor enthusiast and dog lover to join our team. This is a very fun and rewarding job if you love dogs, enjoy the great outdoors (rain or shine), enjoy hiking and are physically fit enough to keep up with a group of off-leash dogs for 1 to 2 hours. This is not the stereo-typical dog walking position youve seen on TV as we dont walk the dogs around the neighbourhood, we take them to off-leash dog parks for our 1 hour excursions and we hike with them in the beautiful north shore trails for our 2 hour adventures.
At this point the shift is typically from 10:30 am 3:30 pm Monday through Friday but the hours may increase as more resposibilities are added. Cancel your gym membership and get paid to work-out!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Picking up and dropping off dogs from their homes in Vancouver
Hiking/walking for 1- 2 hours with a group of friendly off-leash dogs
Maintaining leadership of the pack
Being respectful of other trail users and the environment
Having fun with the dogs!
The successful candidate will:
Have experience raising or working with dogs and genuinely love dogs
Enjoy driving and have an excellent driving record (proof required) and be very familiar with Vancouver's streets
Be bondable (criminal record check required)
Have a mature, responsible, friendly personality
Ideally have previous customer service experience
Be very comfortable around all types and sizes of dogs
Be willing to take a K9 first aid course
Be physically fit and able to easily hike in the north shore mountains for at least 2 hours
The successful candidate could also easily increase their income by boarding dogs in their home if they want to. To do this you must:
Live in a pet friendly building
If have a dog or cat, he/she would need to be friendly, well socialized and receptive to having other dogs in their home
Training will be provided for the successful candidate.
