The Manager, Operational Development will provide technical and management support to the VP/GM and Mine Managers for NEBC operations. The incumbent will work with the corporate engineering department and operations management to establish plans and programs to facilitate the growth and development of NEBC operations.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
• Mine development and planning support for existing and new operations
• Direct a program for Operational Improvements at all mines.
• Standardization of practices and procedures for engineering activities, including establishment of engineering standards, planning processes, and reporting.
• Standardization of definitions and metrics for operations (including KPI’s and performance measurements for production, maintenance and preparations).
• Support to operations for professional engineering development and technical training.
• Duties as mutually developed by the incumbent and the VP/GM NEBC Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Mining Engineering
• Eligible for registration/registered as a Professional Engineer
• More than 5 years of experience in open pit mining, including at least 3 years in mine design and planning, preferably in coal.
• Knowledgeable in computerized pit optimization and design.
• Preferably some line supervisory experience.
