The first floor has the kitchen, dining area, entertainment system, laundry, and a full bath. The second has the bedroom and a full bath. The third floor we use as an office and it opens onto a spacious and private roof-top patio that offers 360 views of the city and surrounding mountains. The loft has one bedroom, but we have comfortably hosted folks on our couch and a futon in the office.

We are travelling to Puerto Vallarta during the Olympics and would love to trade our home in Vancouver for your home in Mexico. It does not have to be in PV - but close as our flights are already booked. We are traveling for 4 weeks to Mexico through february and march.

Our home is available in time for the opening ceremonies through to the paralympics.
our home is a two level 2 bedroom house, with large kitchen, dining room, living room and den. We have a great covered front deck and a completely fenced back yard. We are not in the thick of things but we are really well located with easy access to all the major highways and centrally located to Richmond, Vancouver, North Shore and the US Border. Everything is really less than a 30 minute drive. We are also on the skytrain route - a station is only 4 blocks away - so you can get downtown in under 25 minutes. Lots of shopping nearby - all the big box stores as well as some great outlet shopping.
Our neighbourhood is quiet, no traffic and lots of green space with walking paths and parks thorughout the area.

If you are not familiar with the California coastal town of Cayucos, I suggest you go to http://pursuitist.com/travel/cayucos-ca-americas-coolest-small-town/. Sums it up pretty well.
We are directly on the beach at 23rd and Pacific. The address is 2302 Pacific Ave., so you might want to look it up on Google maps. The house is three- or four-bedrooms. Technically three, but we split the fourth into a sort of upstairs downstairs bunk bed thing for kids.
The house sleeps five comfortably, maybe more if you have a couch sitter. There is a king size bed in a smallish bedroom, a single in a bedroom, and the upstairs bunk and downstairs bunk that dump into separate rooms with their own lights and doors. Our house was built in the 1930s and has not changed all that much actually. We do not have a dishwasher, and the carpeting is older because we have been putting three children through college. When you give them the choice of remodeling the kitchen or a four-year prestigious school, they always pick the school.
The swap involves the house, the use of our wetsuits, and advice on where to eat. Hoppe's in Cayucos for elegant food, Robin's in Cambria for California cuisine, and the Sea Shanty in Cayucos for a great breakfast. We are close to San Luis Obispo, two California missions, and the Paso Robles wine country. Our housekeeping is relatively casual, so we are not interested in swapping with somebody who will leave a list of 300 demands on what we must do after taking a shower, especially if it involves squeegees and sprays and towels and fans. We are not insulting those people, it can just make a vacation less pleasurable. We will leave our house clean and even pay a housekeeper to come in once while we are gone, and we expect you to leave yours clean. And then, we both get them back in the shape we left them.
We are looking to swap for any or all of the Olympics or perhaps a little longer. Suburbs anything near. A parking space would be nice, and advice on how to get around. Because our house is worth more than $2 million and would rent for about $1,800 a week to $2,000 if we chose to rent it, we are not interesting in paying plane fare to Maui or anything like that. We just want a swap. But we can abide a small place, even a studio if two can sleep in it comfortable. A king or two beds though. Again, the kids are gone to college.
We will not want to swap cars, because of the liability. (One of us is a lawyer, you see.) We would maybe like somebody who could cat sit our cat, who lives outside and in the patio on a heating pad, but we can contract that out to a neighbor kid if you are uninterested. We will kennel our dog.
The weather at that time of year will not be as hot as you might be looking for. The weather is never freezing here. But February can be a colder time than most of our year, with some rain (although we see endless drought in this neck of the woods). But there will be no fog and the views leave most people breathless. Sometimes the wind blows off the waves, sometimes the waves come into the ice plant at the end of the from our house to the sand. Because weather seems to be important to you British Columbians, I just want to say we don't have much of it. I looked up the mean temperature for Feb. 22 of this year and it was 60 degrees, high was 66 and low was 53. Average range for this day is 66 to 45. But the highs and lows recorded for this day were 84 degrees and 34. Those stats are virtually exactly the same numbers for Nov. 22, 2009.
Perhaps it will work for you. Otherwise happy hunting.

Safe neighbourhood, made even safer by attentive and kind neighbours. The neighbourhood is called Beaconsfield Village and we are very close to a Toronto hotspot called The Drake, as well as what has been called the hippest strip of restaurants and bars in Toronto, at Dundas and Ossington. These places are all within walking distance, as well as a few great options for coffee in the morning and a wonderful park with a skating rink (Dufferin Grove Park). I work at the University of Toronto, and it is a 20 minute streetcar ride there, passing Little Italy along the way. Our neighbourhood is also more traditionally known as Little Portugal. We have a fat, friendly, gentle, outdoor cat who ideally would stay at home with you.

Our house is 17 yrs old, large, 4 br., 4 bath, with a legally converted 400 sq ft. garage which is heated, mostly soundproofed and wired for music studio, artisan workshop ... whatever. There is a downstairs guest suite with it's own full bathroom (no kitchen). The lot is a smaller, city sized plot. The neighbourhood is priceless, with wonderful people, safe, quiet street. However, it is the view that is worth a million bucks. Stunning vistas of howe sound, north shore mountains, boats, log booms and even cruise ships in the summer. The picture here is of the moon rising over the Lions on the North Shore. The lights of Cypress Mountain ski area are visible in winter. The house has electric, gas and wood heat.

Alternatively, we'd consider renting out the house, but would rather try a swap.

Wanting to swap our 3 bedroom (plus 2 dens that can be used as bedrooms), 1 & 1/2 bathrooms, beautiful clean home very close to most 2010 Winter Olympic events for your home in Hawaii (or somewhere else tropical). Our home can sleep 6-10 people and is in Canada's most affluent and safest municipalities, West Vancouver, where homes sell for $1 million to $10 million and more. Our home is within 15 minutes of downtown Vancouver (Olympic opening/closing ceremonies, hockey, speed skating, figure skating, curling, etc.), 15 minutes to Cypress Mountain (Olympic freestyle skiing and snowboarding events) and within 1hour & 15 minutes of Whistler (Olympic downhill skiing, sliding centre, cross country, etc.). Ideally, we would like to swap for home in Hawaii, but are open to other tropical suggestions. Dates and length of swap are flexible between February 12 and March 1, 2010. One or two weeks? Car swap is available. We have a seven passenger Toyota Sienna minivan.

My wife and I are both tidy, responsible professionals (non smokers) and have three children ages 16,13, and 10. We will look after your home as if it were our own and would expect the same from you. We have travelled a fair amount and look forward to providing a great home experience for those looking to visit Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics! Hotel accommodations during the 2010 Olympics will be VERY expensive and are almost all booked. Some slightly less expensive hotels, far away from the activities are still available, but nothing that beats our great location and at no cost.
