An Abbotsford based group of companies requires a graphic design assistant to help with seasonal overflow on a variety of projects. This is an 8-12 week temporary position.
Note that this is an in-house position, not a tender for freelance or contract work.
Responsibilities will include:
Assist senior designer as directed with production of catalogs, packaging, business forms, brochures, marketing materials, & presentations
Proof-reading and copy editing of existing projects and marketing materials
Digital commercial photography, close cropping and image enhancement
Qualifications will include:
Required knowledge of Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator CS3, and related software
A comprehensive understanding of graphic arts, design, typography and colour theory
Experience working in a PC environment
Familiarity with web authoring and design are a bonus
Must be creative, detail oriented, motivated, have a positive attitude, and be willing to work independently or as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a strong print portfolio and one or two years education or two years of relevant work experience.
