It is such a positive learning environment there, our daughter is coming home singing the songs she has learnt, counting and doing things I didn't think was possible!
When your child is starting to show signs of potty training readiness, the teachers are more then willing to help steer them in the right direction! It is so nice to know that our daughter is being cared for in such a fantastic way! Working full time, doesn't give me the option to help her potty train on a consistent basis so knowing this is happening during the day, makes it so much easier for us to stay consistent at home!
Their curriculum is amazing; they are set up as a school type of environment where your child is in a classroom with just their age, so there are never toys or activities that aren't suited for the age that your child is at. They have French classes where they learn through singing, yoga, reading time, learning about letters and numbers, and they are teaching them how to write, starting first with horizontal & vertical line applications!
CEFA is a little more pricey then your regular home based daycares, but in our experience seeing how she has changed from the 2 previous home based daycares is something I can't even explain. She is a happy, full-filled little girl. They do offer sibling discounts as well, the added bonus is the REFERAL program there, that if you use our name, you will get $200 off each month!!! This puts them more in line with other group settings facilities out there, and the bonus, you don't need to send them food, so you are saving money there as well as time.

We have a big fenced in backyard when we have outside time (weather permitting) with plenty of toys to play with or just lot's of space for them to run around. I priced out the fees - and for a full time home-based, typically you are running around $800/month, group based ones are around $1000 - PLUS you have to buy food for them so add that cost in there. Part time rates average around $45-50 a day. With the promotion on right now, full time rates for children under 3, run around $1035, for just over 3 years it is around$905! Totally puts you in line with what a home based day care is!!!!! Part time rates run around $520 for under 3, and $465 for over 3! The prices really aren't as bad as I had originally thought! I now have space available for children 3 - 12 years old. I have one full time space Monday to Friday. I also have two part time spaces one is for Thursday and Friday only and the other is for 1:00pm to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday.
I offer a preschool program for children 5 years and younger, arts and crafts, music, gym program, and field trips. I also offer school drop off and school pick up for school age children. All of this is included in the fees.
This childcare has a large gated playground with playhouses, slide, bikes, ride toys, and sports equipment. Inside there is a spacious playroom, a designated nap/quiet room, and a kitchen/craft room.

I have a big fenced backyard for kids to play and nice clean basement for them to do their homework. I am educated person, and can give kids a hand on their home work. I also can teach them computer or chess game. I have computers for kids to do research.
I charge flat per month. that includs one no-school day.
We start at 8:00 am and till 6:00 pm. But if you are early a little or late a little bit, don't worry, we don't have extra charge. So you don't have to rush to catch the last minute, safety is first.
We also take casual drop off and no-school day drop off.

The facility can be in a person's home, but it MUST be:
Liscenced
Have up to date Criminal Record Check and willing to undergo a recent Criminal Record Check
Have all ECE training
Have recent CPR and First Aid training
Must be approved by Fraser Health to be operating as a Daycare
Have fire safety and building safety inspection certificates, as well as have two exits in case there was a fire and a working fire extinguisher
Must be smoke free
Must be drug/alcohol free
Must be pet free
Must be only maximum of 8 children
Must be willing to provide at least two references

I like to engage the children with various activities like storytime, arts and crafts, and games. I also enjoy exposing children to outdoor activities and family events such as: Walks/Bike rides, Park, Beach, Art Galleries, Movie Theatres, Science World, Aquarium, etc.
Transportation is by public transit. I just bought a car and will be getting my 'New Drivers' Licence sometime in Feb or March.
