As a PressReader evangelist, you will "sell" your contacts on the usefulness of PressReader, its features, functionality and overall practicality when compared to other news applications and traditional print or online media. Every review and article written will work toward increasing PressReader's brand awareness amongst Apple, Android, BlackBerry and Windows consumers and newspaper and magazine publishers.
The ideal candidate should be enrolled at an accredited university, preferably majoring in business or management. Along with a passion for marketing and sales, the candidate must have a keen interest in publishing and digital technology and possess a positive, can-do attitude, a strong work ethic and must be able to employ creative strategies to effectively reach out to and persuade contacts to write articles about PressReader and post them on their respective "sites".
Reporting directly to NewspaperDirect's Marketing Manager, this part-time contract requires 20 hours of work per week for up to 6 months. As duties will be performed remotely, candidates require their own desktop or laptop along with a reliable wireless internet connection. A WIFI-enabled Apple or Android device and a free PressDisplay/PressReader account will be provided by NewspaperDirect on loan for as long as the student is under contract with NewspaperDirect.
Monthly reviews will be held to evaluate performance against objectives. These reviews will be used to determine continuation or termination of the contract. Upon termination of the contract, student must return the loaned device to receive their final pay cheque.
Work Performed:
• Become a PressReader expert by familiarizing yourself with the application's features, functionality, usefulness and practicality particularly as they pertain to everyday news readers
• Research blog, app directory, technology and gadget websites provided by NewspaperDirect and determine suitable points of contact
• "Sell" your contacts on the merits of PressReader and encourage them to write and post reviews and articles on their websites
• Provide trial subscriptions to contributors, writers and editors
• Track your time and progress by completing and submitting weekly status reports (format to be provided by NewspaperDirect)
