Looking for a challenge? Why not volunteer at the Ridge Meadows Hospice Thrift Store in Maple Ridge!

If you like working in a fast paced environment, knowing what you're doing is making a difference and working alongside some really great people, this might just be the volunteer job for you!!

In order to volunteer, all you have to do is come down to the store and pick up a volunteer application form and criminal record check (standard for everyone). Once you have completed the form, bring it back to us and we'll setup an orientation for you! We pride ourselves on giving our volunteers jobs that they feel comfortable doing and more then that, something they enjoy!

Because this is such a fast paced environment there is always something to be done! All of the items you see in our store have been donated by community members. The money we earn goes directly to our hospice programs in the Ridge Meadows area! The store is big, but the people are friendly! If you've got a few hours each week and want to contribute some of your time to a really great cause, now is the time to do it!

We look forward to meeting and working with you!

Director of Promotions at Adstock Maple Ridge Society (Maple Ridge)

Adstock is a free, annual, non-profit, alternative music festival that takes place at the Memorial Peace Park in downtown Maple Ridge. Since 2005, Adstock has been dedicated to showcasing both the best established bands in the genres of Punk, Metal, Ska and Hardcore, as well as providing an opportunity for young bands to play that are just starting out. Last year, at our 7th annual event, we were very proud to feature the legendary punk band D.O.A. as our headliner. In addition to supporting youth involvement in music, we also work with various NGOs to help broadcast various social issues each year. In the past we have worked with Condomania, Allouette Addictions Centre and Oxfam to name a few.

We are looking to appoint a new Director of Promotions at the Adstock Maple Ridge Society and help continue and improve the Adstock tradition.

The position would be ideal for someone currently studying and/or preparing for a career in entertainment management. The successful candidate will learn much about what it takes to put on a smaller music festival in a fun, personable environment with a lot of freedom and openness to new ideas.

Responsibilities:
-Attend increasingly frequent meetings (as the event approaches in early July)
-Plan and implement various online, postering and radio promotions
-Manage and recruit for the Adstock Street Team
-A breadth of other tasks up to and including the event itself

This position is possible to serve while doing other part-time or full-time work. We can offer only a great reference and resume building block for you along with our sincerest gratitude.

If interested, email your resume and cover letter to Adam Rayburn at the above email address.
