BC Outdoors is looking to fill the position of Production Manager. The Production Manager will work in conjunction with the host of the program to produce 13 episodes. Must be able to work independently, juggle schedules and work to deadline. Must be available to travel up to 10 weeks of the year between March and November.
Main Responsibilities:
• HD Camera Operation - quick on your feet, smooth and sharp. This is generally a one-camera show with only one take.
• Editing -- edit each episode using Final Cut Pro 7.
• Graphics -- create titles, promos, bumpers and commercials using a variety of resources including Motion 4, Photoshop, FCP.
• Delivery Management -- liaise regularly with networks on schedules, timing and technical requirements. Understanding of how to produce to industry standard with a variety of codecs is necessary.
• Social Media Management/Marketing -- Posting content to facebook, twitter, forums, youtube etc.
• Maintain website using CSS and some HTML coding.
• Write scripts for promos and commercials with an understanding of marketing and branding.
• Maintain established production processes and offer suggestions to improve efficiency and/or quality.
• Work at trade shows to promote the show.
Qualifications
• Degree or diploma in Television, Video or equivalent video production experience
• 3+ years in television production
• Experience using HD video cameras, Go Pro and edit software (FCP, Motion)
• Proven ability to work independently and continually strive to improve and distribute the product.
• Excellent communication and marketing skills.
• Capable of quickly adapting to changing schedules, priorities and requirements.
• Experience updating websites using CSS, HTML etc.
• Understanding of DVD Studio Pro and Compressor is beneficial.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Understanding and interest in sport fishing is beneficial but not necessary.

BC Outdoors Sport Fishing is a fishing program entering its third season of production. The program is shot around British Columbia and airs on 8 networks across North America. The show comes from its parent magazine, BC Outdoors, which has been BC's Hunting and Fishing authority for more than 65 years.
