The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a multi-sensory, one on one, individualized and emotionally sound way to help your child reach their great potential. Sessions are one hour and helps to effectively help teach writing, reading, spelling and math. I have worked with many special needs and learning challenged children. This approach is beneficial for children with a variety of learning challenges, especially, children with dyslexia, ESL, ADD, ADHD and study skills issues.
I am a Certified Orton-Gillingham Tutor and I am currently working as a TOC and ABA Therapist for autistic children in the area. Making a difference in the lives of children has been an important part of my life. I want to help children achieve their academic and life skills potential by promoting their strenghts and working with their individual learning styles. It is quite remarkable when children start thinking they can "do things", they start believing in themselves-that is the secret to success.
My tutoring services include, a hour lesson, regular progress reports (written or via phone), take home lesson reviews, individualized lesson planning, lesson manipulatives and worksheets/exercise sheets. I am available Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights and Saturday mornings. Please email me for further discussion. I am willing to travel to your home within range.
