The City of Port Coquitlam's Engineering and Operations Department is currently seeking energetic individuals for casual opportunities working with City crews in our Operations division. Casual employees are typically employed to relieve regular employees or for the purposes of temporary increased workloads in the division.
The work is semi-skilled work engaged in a variety of diverse activities within the various sections of the division including public works, construction, utilities and sanitation. The majority of work involves physical effort and agility performing a diverse range of labour related duties.
Candidates' qualifications:
• One year of previous experience within the past five years in civil construction and/or public works related maintenance tasks or
• Six months of previous experience and successful completion of a recognized course in Water Operation or the education and experience to qualify for the EOCP Level I -- Water certificate.
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia, Class 3 with Air Endorsement is preferred.
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement. The current rate for this casual position is $25.90 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
