On Monday, her car broke down by Bedora Place on her way home and after waiting 20 minutes for anyone to stop to help her or call me for her, she walked back to Horseshoe Bay to a pay phone to call me to come get her and arrange a tow for her.

The BCAA driver was completely great and even had a diagnosis of the problem (ignition coil). Worth every penny.

This time it worked out fine, even though there some worry on my part about her not being helped.

A big "Fuck You" to all those drivers who ignored her.

You must be joking or just have no working taste buds.

All they did was buy up a bunch of under-performing pizza places, slapped new paint and new name on these dumps and PRESTO: Fresh Slice Pizza.

Their "fresh" pizzas are all delivered from a truck that brings them across the city from who knows where.

A quick review of their pizza:

Thin, almost non-existent crust, haphazardly applied tomato sauce, add some unremarkable topping and covered with plasticy cheese-like material.

I can think of at least 5 places in walking distance of my NVan house where the pizza is much better:

Andrea's: A bit slow on the service side but I've never had a bad pie there.

The Raven's by the gas station. $26 for a large but no complaints about bad crust, toppings etc. Plus it looks like a great pizza. Check out the photo:

Most places will match prices if you take the trouble to do some basic research

Nice people, good knowledge base and willing to talk to you even if you are just taking a look.

Black's doesn't really compare. They used to have a broader selection but that's in the past.

Kerrisdale is good for used stuff but I've been burned by nor paying attention as they don't like to always volunteer what's wrong with used things. Their customer service is variable, and they never haggle on used equipment.

To hell with this government. Representative of the people in a democracy??? Clearly it has been shown with the last elections, Vancouver council decisions that they do not represent the peoples interest. Debt? HST? What the hell has improved in our lives since I was born in this city to justify all the debt we BCers appearantly have to shoulder? Living conditions in Vancouver have only gotten harder and harder the way I see things. More homeless people, less affordable housing for working class vancouverites. Where the hell is all the god damn money going.
