The District of West Vancouver’s Community Services Department has an opening for a permanent full-time Aquatic Leader I to provide supervision and leadership for Lifeguards, Instructors, and users of the Aquatic Centre.
This position is responsible for: lifesaving functions; general supervision of scheduled guards and lesson instruction including specialized areas; and providing assistance in Lifeguard training. Additional responsibilities include performing maintenance functions in and around the pool.
To be successful, candidates must be: a senior secondary school graduate, have successfully completed courses in lifesaving, swimming instruction and pool operation and maintenance. Previous experience as a Lifeguard and Instructor is mandatory.
Required Licences and Certificates include: Water Safety Instructor, National Lifeguard Service-Pool Option, CPR Level C, Aquatic Emergency Care or Standard First Aid. The successful candidate must also obtain AED, and BCRPA Pool Operators I within the first three months of employment.
The successful candidate is required to supply a criminal record check and a copy of their credentials.
