Male voice (baritone incl. falsetto range) and words seeks woodwinds, bowed strings, ancient or non-Western plucked strings, and fluid/gentle percussion for small "non-classical vocal and instrumental chamber ensemble." Experience with improvisatory forms of music (non-Western/pre-Classical/"jazz") recommended! There is not much of an audience for this sort of thing on this continent -- and therefore little likelihood of it being remunerative in the foreseeable future -- so your participation would be, as they say, "for the love of the music."

Electric rock guitar is usually what I play but I do some acoustic stuff too. I can do backup vocals, I was lead singer in my last band but I consider myself a guitarist first and foremost. High Spirits is a 19-year-old Community Choir. We sing an eclectic, uplifting -- and sometimes demanding -- repertoire from Renaissance to modern, from classical to jazz. We sing in a variety of languages, and we enjoy exploring the rhythms and musical idioms of many cultures.

We perform at concerts and festivals, and bring live music to nursing homes with our program of outreach concerts.

We rehearse Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:30pm in a community hall near 30th and Main (very convenient by bus).

34 year old Bass Player looking for a band, either existing or just starting up. I'm not "pro" and wouldn't claim to be. I have a little stage experience, and I recognize sometimes the Bass player's role is to pedal a G note. I've been playing fairly regularly with a group of guys but I'm still looking for the right "fit". I'm not flashy, but I am steady and I can hold down the bottom end and groove.

I have been playing since 20 years old, with a few years off in the middle due to wife/job/kids etc., but I've been playing steady again for the last year or so.

I have decent equipment; a couple of Fender basses, 80's 100w tube head, 70's 200w solid state head and even an acoustic bass. I have a truck and a good paying day job. I don't want to go on tour, but some weekend burners could definitely be arranged.

I am open to playing any style of music; rock, punk, pop, indie rock, folk indie, you name it. Basically, anything except metal. My influences tend to lean towards Rock, Punk and '60's Soul Music. Basically, no ego, no BS, just looking to play some music; originals are preferred, but I love to play covers too. Hi all. I'm a seasoned pro drummer with lead and backup harmony vocals playing in a popular local cover band. We're consistenly booked on the local pub/club circuit but every once in awhile we have some open weekends. I'm looking to fill some of those weekends in by subbing in for your regular drummer who may be unavailable for your local paying gig.

I've been playing for years (I'm 46 yrs old but have the energy of alot younger person) and come with no ego or drama. Greetings ladies, gentlemen, assholes and the shemale who keeps flagging this post. I want to start a band. I already have a metal band, so I'd like to make a band that isn't metal, but if it happens, whatever, we'll roll with it. I've been playing guitar for 12 years. I'm 24. I know my basic theory, have pro gear, good attitude and smoke a lot of ganja (though I consider myself a musician who happens to smoke pot, not a stoner who plays guitar). I have a rehearsal space with everything we need already there. I'm looking for other guitar players, drums, keys, horns, violins, harp, midgets, throat singers, whatever the hell you play, as long as you know where all the notes are and how to play them on your particular instrument. If you can sing while playing, that's killer, do it up, but if you can't it's no biggy. If you can read music, that's a HUGE plus, but not totally necessary. I don't really want to have a designated fancy pants singer. I just don't like them. It's Roth's fault for screwing up Van Halen. It's Axl's fault for screwing up Guns. And it's Steven Tyler's fault for screwing up Aerosmith and being on American Idol. I'm not saying that all singers are raving jerks... I just happen to really like Van Halen, Guns 'n' Roses and Aerosmith. If you're some crazy singer with 8 octaves or something, then please do come in. Like if you're Dio or something, okay, we can rock and I won't say shit about how gay you look because you're awesome.
Anyways, call me, and let's have a jam. Rehearsal spot is in East Vancouver, close to Commercial drive.
Drugs are cool. Booze is cool. Just be able to play on whatever you're doing. Don't get so screwy that you forget how to play.

If you have any demos of you playing, that's great, but I would rather have a group of people come together without any premeditation and see what comes out. I know, exciting...

I'm looking to form/join a punk band. None of that pop shit, when I say punk I don't mean "greenday, sum 41", I mean Black Flag, The Distillers, The Casualties, Bad Religion, The Exploited, G.B.H, The Rabble, Rancid, The Misfits, ETC.
I'd be looking for people who can jam around 2 - 3 times a week, and who'd want to work towards playing shows in the not-so-distant future. I'm interested in doing a few covers, mostly originals. I write lyrics and songs, and love to improvise with the band.
You must be committed, punctual, and above all, passionate. When I play, I feel the music course through my veins, and I want to find people with a similar attitude.
No drinking/drugs during practices/shows. I don't care about what you do away from the band though, that's your business entirely.

I have been playing music and gigging (including some touring) for over 10 years, and am 26 years old. After years of solely learning and playing by ear with a limited knowledge of basic theory, I decided to seek a "formal" musical education and received a Diploma from Selkirk College's Contemporary Music & Technology program, with a Major in Music Production (Recordings and Producing is a huge passion of mine). That was completed in April of 2010. I would consider myself well-rounded stylistically, liking to play rhythm guitar & lead guitar in equal amounts, flat-picking, finger-style, slide-style, or pretty much any way you can get sound of out a guitar. I'm probably best at Blues, R&B, and Rock, but I also have deep passions and experience for anything from Nine Inch Nails to Stevie Wonder, Elton John, to Les Paul or Alicia Keys, Roger Waters, or even Mariah Carey.

Hey my name's Johnny and I'm a 24 year old guitarist looking to get back into a band or looking to jam with people who are looking to start a band. I'm looking for a serious project to commit to however at this point I am at the stage where I need to try some different styles that I'm heavily influenced by as well as play with different musicians to figure out what feels right and which road I want to follow. I've always been heavily influenced by blues, folk and classic rock. I fucking love The Black Crowes, The Darkness, Dirty Sweet, and AC/DC(Bon Scott Days). I want to write and play music that has a lot of heart behind it. I can tell you right away if music is great or not and I have a very good ear for melody. I can also tell you if your band's name is cheesy, your logo is horrible or whether or not a group has their shit together. All and all I'm not looking to screw around. I'm interested in people who are looking to write music that touches people. I also want to play with people that already know being in band is not just about playing your instrument. There is also a business side to it. If you want people to come out to the shows you have to promote the shit out of yourselves. You have to sell "the band". That's just how it is. Unfortunately people seem to have a hard time understanding this aspect. I can't say that I'm not in it to make money because I totally am. If you could do what you truly love in life and make a decent living off of it then why wouldn't you! I think about that just about every day when I'm at work lol. Clearly my career is not something that I'm truly passionate about but that's another story.

As for my musical background. I've been playing guitar for 12 years. I spent the last few years playing in a metalcore band called Royalty Revived. You can check out the music by going to http://royaltyrevived.bandcamp.com/
In Royalty Revived I wrote a large portion of the guitar parts. The other guitarist and I wrote together and collaborated with each other. Unfortunately the style of music isn't relevant towards what I'm looking to do here but I gained a lot of experience in this band. Both musically and business related. I spent a lot of my time dealing with a lot of the business side of the band. And for the record Royalty Revived is no longer together.

Anyways to sum things up. I'm looking to jam with singers, guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, drummers or bands that have already been formed and are looking for a guitarist. Girls and/or guys are cool. I'd prefer to jam with people around my age to start this kind of project. If you are older or even if you're around my age and are looking to start a serious cover band that we can market, make some money and have some fun playing bars, weddings, banquets, etc. please message me as well. The tuning is Standard plus a low B and an even lower E. Uber low, tight and heavy riffs are brutal. Some knowledge of music theory will be required, but that's obviously not a problem for somebody with the balls to own an Eight String. A half dozen songs are in various stages of decomposition for you to infiltrate. Jam Friday nights at our 24hour lockout space plus mondays and wednesdays for the truly ambitious.
