<description><![CDATA[The City of Surrey's RCMP Surrey Detachment currently has opportunities for 9-1-1 Telecommunications Operators. <br>
<br>
The auxiliary position requires working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.  The Telecommunications Operator 1 is responsible for a wide variety of telecommunications duties within the RCMP Operations Communication Centre.  You will work in many functional areas as required including, call-taking, info radio and info message centre.  The position requires responding to calls such as complaints, emergency and non emergency 911 calls and general public inquiries while accurately evaluating and prioritizing incoming calls.  You will take reports and provide information with speed and accuracy to police.  In doing so, considerable independent use of judgment, action and tact will need to be exercised in order to make decisions promptly and accurately. Other responsibilities will include performing CPIC maintenance including data entry, modifications, information removal and retrieval including drafting messages relating to warrants or CPIC hits and forwarding information to appropriate agencies.  This position liaises closely with the Telecom Operator 2 on Priority 1 calls and ensures that all additional information is transmitted to the Telecommunications Operator 2. <br>
<br>
This position requires the ability to react quickly and tactfully with the public and to handle several matters at one time.  We require individuals who can adapt quickly to changing priorities and can communicate with the public in a tactful and professional manner. <br>
<br>
Successful candidates will have completed Grade 12, supplemented by some related training and experience.  An accurate typing speed of 45 words per minute (testing will be administered).  This position requires the completion of the RCMP Reliability Security Clearance.<br>
<br>
Please note that this is an entry level auxiliary position with the opportunity to advance to regular full-time employment as a Telecommunications Operator 2.  <br>
<br>
Salary:  $24.68 per hour + 12% on lieu of benefits & vacation.<br>

Access Support Workers provide one-on-one support for children and teens ages 3-18 who have disabilities. The Support Worker will be supervised by the Access and the Summer Day Camp Program Coordinators. In addition to one-on-one support, they will develop and train summer camp staff and volunteers to assist them in developing skills to manage a variety of behaviours. During the summer program they will work with children and teens and assist camp staff, volunteers, and families/caregivers to implement existing support plans to promote consistency and most importantly: help everyone have fun and make friends at summer camp.<br>
<br>
The preferred applicants will possess: experience working with children of all ages; knowledge of group characteristics and age appropriate activities; the ability to effectively provide guided choices, instructions and directions to children; the ability to encourage appropriate behavior; the ability to assess situations involving challenging individuals and behaviours; the ability to provide on-site training and guidance; and experience working with families and other professionals. <br>
<br>
The successful candidate will possess valid Red Cross Standard First Aid Certification or equivalent. A valid class 5 BC Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle is required for this position in order to travel between summer camp programs at the West Vancouver Community Centre, Ambleside, Lighthouse Park and Gleneagles Community Centre.The following experience and education would be considered an asset: experience working with children with disabilities; experience working or volunteering within a recreation setting; Special Education Training or equivalent; ECE, B.Ed. Special Education Certificate, or equivalent; and a Class 4 Driver's Licence.<br>
<br>
All applicants must be available to attend an in-person group interview during the period of April 16-18, 2012, and successful candidates must be available the following paid training sessions:<br>

Typical duties pertaining to this position include ensuring that all pay period end processes are carried out effectively, resulting in the production of accurate and timely pay-cheques for all employees of the city. The position requires reviewing, recommending and implementing regulations and other requirements pertinent to payroll processing and labor information-gathering procedures in consultation with the Manager. <br>

Other areas of responsibility include ensuring year-end working papers for payroll, benefit and liability accounts are completed accurately and on time.  You would plan, assign and supervise the work of payroll staff engaged in various payroll tasks and providing operational direction and solutions to problems; as well as developing PeopleSoft queries to extract relevant payroll information and other related duties.<br>
<br>
The successful candidate will have completed Grade 12, supplemented by accounting courses equivalent to level 3 of a professional accounting designation. The incumbent will also have a minimum of 7 years recent payroll experience in a large computerized setting, and in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility, including supervision or an acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience.  The incumbent will also have the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) Certification through the Canadian Payroll Association or equivalent.<br>

There are many camps offered throughout the District of West Vancouver, including Full Day, Overnight, Half Day, Preschool, and Specialty Camps. Some staff may be hired to work at a variety of camps throughout the summer. For information about each camp, please refer to the West Vancouver 2011 Summer Camps Leisure Guide, available in all West Vancouver Parks and Community Services facilities or online at www.westvancouver.ca.<br>

Summer Camp Leaders are responsible for the daily camp implementation. The position may include but is not limited to the following: program development; budget & purchasing supplies; risk management; supervising volunteers and campers; and leading and creating activities and gamesFor some camps, supervision of staff, reports, and evaluations may be required. The time commitment will vary for each camp and may require tasks and commitments before and after the camps.<br>
<br>
Summer Camp Leaders are required to possess current First Aid and CPR-C certification. The following certifications or qualifications will be considered an asset:  Class 4 Driver's Licence; Bronze Cross or NLS; OFA III / Advanced Wilderness First Aid; Coaching certification, NCCP, or equivalent; SuperHost/Worldhost, Babysitter Training, or other similar certifications; Teaching or instructing experience or certification.<br>

The position reports to the Manager of Heritage Services.<br>

In this role, some typical duties will include:  working with heritage and special event staff to plan and schedule re-enactment presentations, editing re-enactment scripts, recommending audience engagement and interactive presentation elements, sourcing and ordering props and costumes, recruiting and hiring contract actors, training and rehearsing actors, recruiting volunteers, writing promotional copy, coaching, supporting and scheduling actors and volunteers, evaluating and assessing performances and presentations and recommending characters and research priorities for future dramatic re-enactment presentations.<br>
<br>
The successful applicant must have considerable understanding and knowledge of theatrical presentations and historical re-enactment interpretation programs, their purpose and objectives. <description><![CDATA[The City of Surrey is looking for an intermediate to senior resource to provide change management expertise for a series change initiatives related to the move to the New City Hall (NCH). The Change Management Specialist will report to the Organizational Change Manager and will support the implementation of the overall change management plan for this exciting project. The role is a term position until December 2013.<br>
<br>
In conjunction with the Organizational Change Manager, the Change Management Specialist is responsible for preparing approximately 800 City of Surrey staff for the move. This position will provide tactical advice to the NCH Project Team and engage with a broad range of internal stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service and effective staff engagement. The Change Management Specialist will provide direct support and coaching to managers and supervisors as they help their staff through the upcoming transition. <br>
<br>
The Change Management Specialist will lead and implement change management plans for NCH that will facilitate the transition through communication planning, staff engagement and training. This role will identify organizational and business process impacts, and support stakeholder teams in designing and implementing transition strategies. Other duties include performing the role of an internal consultant, such as; coaching, facilitating and educating individuals or groups to support staff.<br>
<br>
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Management, Psychology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience in the field of change management. A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a change management practitioner with a proven track record in successfully delivering change management components of a major project are required. The candidate possesses sound knowledge and skills related to organizational change and transition. Experience working at an intermediate level within the public sector or large complex organization is preferred.<br>

Reporting to the Land and Resources Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of TH programs, Acts, policies, and procedures as they pertain to lands and resources management. The incumbent is responsible for managing TH's geographical information system and for producing mapping products for the Land and Resources Branch and other TH departments. <br>

Essentials<br>
•	Degree in GIS, Cartography and/or Geography or the equivalent in training and experience which would include a related Diploma and a minimum of five years comparable work experience;<br>
•	Experience maintaining and using spatial data for cartography, analysis, and decision-making;<br>
•	Knowledge of and experience using GIS, GPS, and graphics software;<br>
•	Familiarity with territorial and national geospatial datasets;<br>
•	Excellent organizational and time management skills;<br>
•	Ability to manage stress effectively;<br>
•	Work effectively in a team environment as a team player;<br>
•	Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written;<br>
•	Ability to work flexible hours.<br>
<br>
Assets<br>
•	Good working knowledge of Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in social structure, culture and traditional knowledge;<br>
•	Familiarity with mapping needs in a First Nation context considered an asset;<br>
•	Experience with database design and software considered an asset.<br>

•	Able to work flexible hours if needed;<br>
•	Valid class 5 driver's license;<br>
