This is a very personal position as the person will need to live and travel closely with our family for extended periods.

Summary:

Job Description & Responsibilities:
The Instructional System Designer (ISD) supports NGRAIN by designing, developing, and reviewing instructional products. Key responsibilities include:
• Work closely with Project Managers, 3D Artists, Developers, Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and Business System Analysts to analyze and validate project requirements and objectives
• Guide NGRAIN on ISD best practices and design standards and develop instructional materials in accordance with established standards so that the appropriate instructional strategies are used for each project.
• Ensure that lesson objectives are accurately tested and that the courseware meets the level of learning and interaction for the objectives.
• Establish that all deliverables meet standards for instructional integrity and effectiveness.
• In addition to development work, assess learning solutions and use ISD best practices to support NGRAIN’s approach to quality.
• This role may require travel to client sites within North America.
Qualifications Required:
• 5+ years of experience with instructional design methodologies
• 2+ years of managing, leading and developing people
• Experience in the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of Web-delivered interactive courseware.
• Knowledge of and experience with SCORM, S1000D, CMS and LCMS systems and current military IETM standards
• MS/MA in Education, Psychology, Instructional Systems Design, Human Performance or related field.
• Coursework in ISD is a must
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Knowledge of basic software development lifecycle processes
• Familiarity with HTML and Adobe Flash
