To any VFX student/grad looking for a good opportunity to get some nice footage for your reel. We are currently in pre-production on a music video for an up and coming Toronto metal act which is to be shot in BC and Toronto within the next 2 months.

We are currently in the process of starting a new production company which consists of young creative minds with skills in all areas. In a perfect world you are just what we are looking for and you mesh with us as much as we do. Then when we move onto other projects you can grow with us.

But you at least need to be able to take our ideas and supervise on set when we shoot the VFX shots to make sure post production goes as smooth as possible. Secondly, we would need you to take that footage and composite what we need. Then send those shots back to our editors. Job will entail 3D motion tracking, 3D compositing/effects, some animation, consulting before/during shooting.

At this point in time we are busy planning the upcoming Toronto shoot which comes first, but we also need to get someone onboard to consult us on the various VFX related shots, including any particular equipment we might need outside of our package.

This would be a (no budget, volunteer position), i can't afford to pay for professionals. The short will be filming around next fall 2010, (to give the actors some time to work on the script), so I'll need some serious people who will be committed for the long haul but it won't be time consuming until we start filming, preproduction will be done when it's convenient for all of us. It's going to be a 3 short movie arc (planning 3 short movies) First 1 is going to be 30min and is mostly an introduction to the 2 characters, the other 2 will be planned at a later time. Basically the first movies storyline is about a young man named Adam who has just recently lost a family member from a hit and run accident, the character has a darkness inside of him that he can't control, he blames himself for the death and eventually turns to the bottle to hide his grief, his friend Zara tries to snap him out of it and wants to help him restore his faith before it's too late, and from that it eventually leads him down a dark path (where the second and third movies come in.)

I am a 3rd year film production student at The Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in Montreal and am in Vancouver for the weekend for this shoot.

Saturday shoot will be in Langley at the air war museum. Need shots of old planes and my actor who will be dressed in an authentic RCAF WWII uniform.

Sunday railway tracks in Port Moody. The shoot entails a small boy who releases a pigeon from his suitcase after being pursued by his mother. It will be aesthetically treated and stylized to resemble the 1920's. I have four pigeons for the shoot, so it must be done in four takes.

I will be handling a 16mm Bolex and need someone to handle the HD cam.

I am the producer of a soon to be Web Tv community The Whole Food Project.com
We are 4 weeks away from our launch and we are seeking a new member to our team. We are looking for a videographer preferably but an editor would also be great as we have our own cam and sound.
Proficiency with Camtasia or other web interview outlet would be awesome as we conduct many online interviews that would involve split screen.

Our show is devoted to bringing health alternatives that are unheard or not reported by mainstream media as well as a cooking show to show people how to select and prepare whole foods and how to properly read your food labels.

We are ideally hoping to have a long term member of the project as there is a ton of filming and we are member driven with a massive following.

We are low budget to start, hoping a great editor or videographer sees the potential and willing to help us take it further.

I know you hear this all the time, but this is truly a great project with a great team of talented people with a great compensation package as it gets going.

- Floor Manager (manage the talent, manage microphones)
- Setup and Strike team (you should know how to lay cables and coil up cables, and be able to lift 30kg or more)

I plan to film a dark comedy called "The Meeting in Old Blooming" on or near November 22nd. The short is an excerpt from a feature film in the concept stage, and takes place in a restaurant and a nearby alleyway or parking space. It's about a visit two henchmen make on a senior co-worker who botched a job in a desolate town called 'Old Blooming'.

I'm looking for an experienced director of photography with his/her own camera package (PMW-EX3 or of similar or better image quality preferred). UBC has it's own supply of lighting and miscellaneous equipment, so it's mainly the camera package that I need.

Given that I am a student, my budget is limited, but if you could notify me of your daily rates (say, for "one day" or a 10-12 hour shoot), I can see if I'm able to compensate.

Please provide a portfolio and demo reel if possible.

Backline/Instrument tech: Your duties will include loading/unloading gear, tuning and maintaining guitars, including a 12-string, Passing guitars during changes, and watching the stage for...well whatever happens that isn't supposed to. Please forward relevant experience and salary expectations.

Merch Seller/P.A.: You duties will vary. You will sell merch when there is no seller (most shows), assist the Band and the other crew, help with load in/out, etc. No formal experience is necessary for this, and the duties are quite light, but a keen attitude and a desire to learn goes far. You will learn as much as you want. This in a intern type position, and as a result, compensation is a perdiem + a percentage of merch sales on shows which you sell (most of them).
