Is there anyone local to Vancouver with experience designing simple PCB projects and/or Arduino shields? I am just getting started with Arduino, and my ideas have quickly outpaced my expertise. I would love to find someone local who could design small custom PCBs for me based on the "non-engineer" specs I will provide.

Example: I need an Arduino shield designed to drive two independent high voltage, high amperage DC motors (cordless drills). Expected output per motor ~10vDC @~5A, max output 24vDC 20A

If you can translate the above sentence into the sort of PCB design specs needed by offshore custom PCB fabricators, then I am very interested in talking with you. I do not have a job for anyone, i am just looking for someone who wants to help and work with me on my hobby project in which I will be designing an MMO game using the HeroEngine's HeroCloud.
I am experienced with programming, but game design and graphic design/animation is fairly new to me beside a little bit of messing around with Second Life.
I am currently experimenting with Blender, although the HeroEngine requires 3DS Max or Maya for its art pipeline - I don't currently have the $3200 to fork out for one of those professional products.
So, if you have Max or Maya, or at least a cracked version - that would be an asset in this project, as I probably won't be able to produce the money for it for about 2-3 months.
In the meantime we can still design in Blender, since it can export to 3ds when i can afford it.

I have a workbook with multiple sheets that require user input with some sheets that have How To information related to the worksheets. I'm thinking I want to do this in Visual Studio/C# but would be open to suggestions for other ways to accomplish this as well (Flex/Flash, Air, Silverlight, something else?). The main requirement is to be able to play audio immediately with no loading/buffering delay, so I think that rules out something browser-native (like HTML5) but may be doable with Flash etc? I'm leaning more towards a desktop windows app right now though... I'm fairly new to Visual Studio 2010 and C# in general, although well versed in other programming languages. I'm struggling to find the resources online to point me in the right direction and know that what I want to accomplish isn't very hard - I just need someone to show me the way!

I'm looking for someone to create me a small Windows forms app that demonstrates two concepts:

Connecting to a remote web server via HTTP and retrieving the result
- Make an HTTP GET call to a URL that contains a bunch of variables in standard URL encoding format (somepage.php?var1=foo&var2=bar etc)
- Take the multi-line plain text response and iterate over it to create an array or update a text box
Playing multiple sounds with volume control
- Have 2 or 3 sound players that can play different WAV files as needed
- Use locally stored WAV files (or can they be embedded in the project?)
- Be able to start and stop each player by clicking on buttons (start, stop, pause/resume)
- Be able to change the volume for each player by clicking on buttons (increase volume, decrease volume)
- Demonstrate how to fade out a player by rapidly decreasing the volume from 100% to 0% over a relatively short amount of time (between 500ms and 2 seconds)

This doesn't seem like more than an hour or two's worth of work and I'm willing to pay the going rate (or barter for beer?).

Ideally you'd deliver a ZIP file that I could unzip into a directory, load up in Visual Studio 2010 and compile/run to produce a windows form with a bunch of buttons on it that provide the functionality described above. I can provide a URL to hit for requirement #1 and can provide some audio files for #2 or you can grab a couple of royalty free tracks for demo purposes online somewhere. You provide clean, well documented code that would make your mother proud and/or stand up to peer review by other seasoned C# developers.

WordPress running too slow

Our new company wordpress site is excruciatingly slow, both on the front end and the backend. It sometimes take 1-2 minutes just to load or update.

I've un-installed and re-installed plugins, I've downloaded WP SuperCache to speed loading time, and I've even switched hosts.....but nothing has worked!
