Experience with a wide variety of polymeric materials, including manufacturing and processing of coatings, plastics, or rubbers would be considered a significant asset. WRA Wildlife Rescue Association of BC is seeking applicants for Wildlife Care Workers to perform essential daily animal care and maintenance duties in WRA's Care Centre.  These individuals, working alongside our staff and volunteers, help to keep the facility in operation 7 days a week during WRA's busiest time in the spring and summer months.  These positions are made available through the federal Canada Summer Jobs program administered by Service Canada and are subject to confirmation of grant funding in May.<br>

To be eligible to apply for these positions, applicants must be students who are:<br>

- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;<br>
- Have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;<br>

Job Summary:<br>
The Electrochemist will work with SWITCH's Research and Development team to support and accelerate the commercialization of products based on SWITCH's proprietary materials.  The Electrochemist will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to, designing and carry out experiments, prototype device design and fabrication, development and optimization of gel electrolyte and solid polymer electrolyte formulations, preparation of formulations, data analysis and interpretation, documenting experiments and writing reports, interfacing with the product development team, device and prototype testing, trouble-shooting, ordering materials and equipment, dealing with suppliers, as well as organizing and maintaining the fabrication and testing areas of the facility.  <br>
<br>
Skills/experience required:<br>
•	Degree in Chemistry with specialization in electrochemistry, or an equivalent combination of experience and knowledge<br>
•	Experience working with electrochromic or similar charge transfer materials an asset.<br>
•	Knowledge of gel electrolytes or solid polymer electrolytes.<br>
•	Knowledge relating to charge injection and electron transfer in a two-electrode device.<br>
•	Knowledge of hole and electron injecting materials.<br>
•	Hands-on experience building and testing electrochromic or related devices.<br>

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in environmental sciences/engineering/consulting and be experienced in all facets of contaminated sites field work and have:   <br>

&#61607;	A minimum of seven (7) years related experience<br>
&#61607;	Professionally registered as a P. Eng, P. Geo, R.P. Bio, P Ag. or as a professional in training in one in these above mentioned professions or technical diploma in related fields with a minimum of nine (9) years experience.<br>
&#61607;	A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.<br>

•	Experience coaching and mentoring junior and intermediate Biologists and Project Managers.  <br>
•	An innate drive to succeed with tenacious determination<br>
•	Strong business management skills with a solid understanding or what it takes to run a successful business.<br>
•	Exceptional proficiency in executing on identified strategic and tactical plans of the business. <br>
•	Strong communication skills, written and verbal<br>
•	Skilled in clear concise report and proposal writing.<br>
•	An entrepreneurial spirit.<br>

We are looking for a Lab Assistant for a 6 month contract.<br>
<br>
Responsibilities:<br>
•	Receives and log-in samples, recording the weight and sample information, making notes of any discrepancies and notifying appropriate individuals of such samples for further notification to the clients.<br>
•	Performs various sample preparation procedures on the rock samples i.e. crushing, pulverizing and splitting; performs particle size analysis and moisture content analysis on the samples.<br>
•	Maintains  inventory  of the rock samples in storage;  keeping records of samples received, flagging any samples exceeding storage time and notifying appropriate individuals of such samples for further notification to clients.<br>
•	Performs general maintenance on the rock crusher and rock pulverizing machines.<br>
•	Assists with the set-up of lab tests for the analysts as necessary.<br>
•	Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.<br>
<br>
Qualifications:<br>
•	Post secondary education or equivalent experience <br>
•	Ability to work within a dusty environment coupled with heavy lifting<br>
•	Demonstrated speed and accuracy <br>
•	Strong attention to detail <br>
•	Excellent computer skills <br>
•	Independent with good time management skills <br>
•	Ability to work under pressure <br>
•	Good written and verbal communication skills <br>
