A BC-based manufacturer/retailer of fine bed linens and down products --- Quilts Etc. requires a part time Graphic Designer for a one year maternity relief position in the burnaby head office to start on December 2009
*** 24-32 hours / week ***
Main Responsibilities:
- Package Design ( Bedding products )
- Store Merchandise Graphic Design (Signage, Banners, Posters…)
- Newspaper and Magazine Advertisement
- Photo retouch and enhancement
- Web Design is an asset ( HTML & CSS )
- Photography is an asset ( Canon Camera and Studio Strobe )
Skills Required:
- experience in retail industrial Graphic Design
- skilled in Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Microsoft Office ( Mac and PC )
- experience in an fast paced office setting
- skilled in Dreamweaver, Adobe Bridge, Lightroom is an asset
- have the motivation and ability to sharpen existing skills, and learn new skills and capabilities
- Mandarins is an asset
Personal Qualifications:
- self-starting, motivated, energetic and well organized, able to multitask
- excellent in time management and capable to meet strict deadlines
- initiative, flexible and eager to learn/improve
- comfortable under supervision and ability to work independently
- positive in attitude and excellent in communication
Interviewees will be tested for the skills required for this position.
