Fitness World Health Clubs is looking for an experienced full-time graphic designer to join our marketing team. This position reports directly to the Marketing/Advertising director and will involve assisting in the creation of all marketing materials. You will be responsible for assisting in both the creative and the production of print ads, in-club promotion materials and all marketing communication pieces. We are a full in-house operation with the ability to produce short run colour printing as well as large format posters and banners. You will be expected to work hard, fast and stay on task. This is a very busy and very "small" office with many things going on at once and one can find themselves overwhelmed, if you're weak at heart you need not apply. We are looking for a designer that thinks fast and produces faster. Designers that can't handle constant changes to artwork and constant re-course need not apply. This is a baggage free zone, where we have fun and bang work out like there is no tomorrow.
Position will require you to play a part in the creative, but more importantly with the print production of material. We ultimately are looking for a good designer that has the eye and ability to design "current" looking artwork", but can roll up their sleeves and hustle on the hard copy production side of things.
Your responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of all marketing and promotional material with the MD.
- Handle all in-house print production on the large format poster printer and the high-speed "kick-butt" colour copier.
- Organize and handle all logistics of marketing materials to all clubs.
- Assist in anything the President and Vice President may need.
You need to have:
- Solid experience on Mac OSX and Adobe CS3, most importantly InDesign.
- Coreldraw X3 experience is a big plus as we have years of old artwork that constantly is accessed and re-worked.
- A great eye for creative that is current and doesn't look like nephew art!
- An extremely organized and motivated personality.
- Working experience in design/marketing/communications
- Post secondary education in the field of graphic design.
- Web knowledge would be a bonus as well as the ability to create cutting edge HTML mailers.
- The ability to hear the words, "uh that don't look so hot", and come back with. "no problem, how about this?"
As mentioned above, we are a full Mac office here with a few windows machines kicking around. We used to be full PC and recently switched over. Knowledge on both platforms is a must. If hired, you will sit next to our current production assistant and shadow her for 2 weeks on everything that happens here. Again, we are looking for a great designer with the ability to pound work out. If you enjoy doing things such as brainlessly surfing the web and text messaging your friends and family all day, you will not last. We have loads of fun, in a great atmosphere that is fast paced with stuff flying everywhere, and did I say have fun?
